Landing Nipple and Lock Mandrel

Landing nipples are downhole components, fabricated as a short section of heavy wall tubular with a machined internal surface that provides a seal area and a locking profile. The Landing Nipples are included in most completions at a pre-determined intervals to enable the installation of flow-control devices, such as Plugs and Chokes.
Three basic types of Landing Nipples are commonly used: No-Go Nipples, Selective-Landing Nipples and Ported Safety Valve Nipples. The Landing Nipples have the same Packing Bore ID for a particular tubing size and weight. ‘LNX’ and ‘LNXN’ Landing Nipples are designed for use with standard weight tubing. ‘LNR’ and ‘LNRN’ Landing Nipples are for heavy weight tubing. The ‘N’ designation is for No-Go Nipples.
The completion can have as many LNX and LNR selective nipples with the same ID in any sequence as desired on the tubing string. This versatility result in an unlimited number of positions for setting and locking subsurface flow controls. The flow control, which is attached to the required lock mandrel, is run in the well via the selective running tool on the slickline.

SR/SRN LOCK MANDREL

STAR SRPT no-go landing nipple system provides a means of running a series of positive location landing nipples in a tubing string with minimum restriction. SRPT no-go landing nipples are designed to accept SRPT lock mandrels with a rated working pressure of 10,000 psi differential and greater from above and below.The SRPT no-go lock mandrels locate on top of the nipple’s polished bore; therefore, there are no secondary restrictions normally associated with bottom no go profiles. This feature makes RPT systems well suited for high-pressure, high-volume large bore completions. SRPT lock mandrels in any given size range are designed to use the same running tool and pulling tool.

The SRQ LOCK MANDREL allows positive placement of wireline safety valves, retrievable in nipple system. SRQ No-Go Lock Mandrels are top no-go lock mandrels designed to land and lock subsurface safety valves in SRQ landing nipples.
